Wake Up Call..!!! (part 2)

In the name of God The Most Merciful and Most Compassionate

So, back to the questions I put forward last week, have you guys too given a thought about these? Or do you think it is not important and totally biased to ask such question? It is up to the readers to judge whether the questions imposed are just rubbish or should be given serious thought.

So, now let’s move on to the last question, where are we going? It is a normal belief that there would be life in the hereafter. All of our hard work helping others, studying, being helpful to our parents and distant ourselves from committing sins is surely tiring. If this world would solely involve worldly affairs, all of our efforts to become good is pointless. If we believe that there is no afterlife, it would be saddening as that our purpose of existence is just worldly which is to enjoy life and gather as much wealth for us to inherit it to our children.

But wait! Have we forgotten that there is God that created us for a purpose? God created Heaven for His obedient and good worshippers and Hell for the ones that disobey Him and led astray. However, it is important that we truly recognize who is this God. If we don’t know Him, we are working at the wrong farm using His given seeds.

Say: He, Allah, is One. Allah is He on Whom all depend. He begets not, nor is He begotten. And none is like him.
 (QS: Surah al-Ikhlas)

First thing first, to have the Heaven as our eternal destination, we owe to know where we, the so-called ‘superior’ human race came from. Just like a novel, to satisfy your readers, you need to give them a first a good impression. The same applies here. We were actually created by Allah the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful from the soil. Only few humans in history were given special privileges by Allah, created differently from others. For instance, Adam who was made by soil (in some hadith he was said to be made from soil directly by Allah), Eve who was made from Adam’s left ribs and Isa whose soul was blown into her mother’s womb by Jibril. Why should we become slaves of powerless gods which were created and crafted by men after being given numerous things to thought about?

That is from what your Lord has revealed to you, [O Muhammad], of wisdom. And, [O mankind], do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished.
(QS: Surah al-Isra’ : 39)

Can’t you see how organized Allah created us, created the world and most importantly created lives in this world? Logically speaking, if He is the one who created us, so why would be there a hindrance if He wants to take what’s His belongings when the time comes?

Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return."
(QS: Surah al-Baqarah: 156)

Secondly, what’s the purpose of our existence in this world? Surely, there’s a reason, a clear purpose and an eternal destination. You can’t be studying, working, having piles and piles of money and eventually die and where to? Analogically, it is the same as you’re driving and driving and driving but without proper destination in mind. It is just not right, isn’t it? Being smart and rich itself wouldn’t make dead bodies different from each other, would they? It’s your Faith (Iman) that would make the difference in the hereafter. I remembered the day when one of the most valuable persons in my life told me this :

Kan bagus kan kalau bukan pandai je, lepas tu alim dan pandai agama,”

It really rang a bell in my mind. Life is not all about studies and having a good profession at the end of a day! Our lives in the world are not permanent. The Prophet Muhammad Pbuh even described in a hadith that we are like travelers in this world. (While in some Hadiths, we are advised to always feel ourselves as foreigners in this world so that we would not be too complacent with this temporary life) LIFE IS JUST TEMPORARY. In simpler words, the world is just a place where we would plant our crops and it’s the hereafter where would be able to harvest its yield. To clarify the real purpose of our existence, I would like to put forward a verse from the Quran-ul-Kareem:

And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.
(QS: Surah al-Dzariyat :56)

Isn’t everything clear right now? Open your eyes, your mind and most importantly your HEART. A simple hadith, yet brings thousand meanings would literally make my point clear:

“There is an organ in the body, if it is good, the whole body will be good, and if it is bad the whole body will become bad, verily it is the heart.”

My dear friends, Hijrah is never easy. In laymen’s term, hijrah is a change. It can be used to define the change in our self whether spiritually or physically from bad to good. Even the Prophet Muhammad Pbuh had to endure endless trials and tribulations to hijrah and spread the words of Allah to the mankind. Nevertheless, once you completed your hijrah, there’s not a word in the world could describe how calm you would feel. The hijrah that you have done would be rewarded handsomely with Heaven in God’s will. Whatever burden you have in your heart, have faith in Him and let it go. You would see the real purpose of our existence Insya- Allah.

Regardless of your beliefs, let us pray to the One God every day at least once,
“Guide me to your correct path O’ Almighty God”.

Fi amanillah.
